Isle Of Eriska Lodge Evaluate, Argyll, Scotland

Some elements of the hotel are drained, canine-eared and would profit from attention. The view from one of our windows (between our bedroom/dressing area/rest room we had 4) was of a roof space where sections of piping, a tarpaulin, etc had been left by builders. Silk wallpaper in an upper corridor was peeling, a curtain in our room was torn vertically on the vanguard and the piano’s foot pedals were thick with dust. On arrival there were cigarette ends strewn on the gravel on the entrance door, a discarded apple core in one planter and nonetheless the case the following morning when identified to staff. It would have been useful to have had a discover to run the new water as finally advised for 10 minutes to allow it to travel from its distant supply. We concluded that sizzling water had run out, not good for a 5-star lodge!

I think the individual reserving the rooms ought to be given the most effective one. I would not have been happy if I had to keep in the first room that was given to me. It was lovely, gracious, and private with plenty of area to roam. For this value level the owners want to speculate some money into making the lodge spotless and top of the range.

E.g. the gardens want weeding, the windows are painted shut. Aliaster the manager we met was wonderful and the employees had been on the entire very pleasant and accommodating. I like the area and the historical past of the place and the peace. Four-course dinner menus change every day and feature the likes of guinea fowl, halibut and Scotch beef.

Coffee/tea services have been expected in our room. After request one morning employees forgot to bring our tea then having given us a kettle, etc forgot to bring milk the subsequent. Reserves look fabulous however externally haven’t but been landscaped/”wilded” into the landscape so seem stark and unappealing. Paths on the island present good walks however the invasive Rhododendron ponticum is being allowed a free reign blotting out vistas, threatening to encroach on paths and is denying native flora their habitat. At “Sir Ian’s Lookout” timber need topped/pruned to preserve this lookout as this had turn into mono-directional with the view to the west and more open sea largely stuffed by bushes. We did appreciate that it’s difficult to take care of 300 acres although and we did choose the “wildness” to any over-administration or manicuring of this very particular, small island.

Location

The restaurant employees were friendly and educated. The food was amazing even for Michelin normal. Unfortunately the decor within the lodge was lower than commonplace. There have been several partitions that have been a multitude, in want of a great lick of paint. Also the main physique of it could be cleaner, the steps were frequently dirty in want of vacuuming and there was a lifeless wasp on the touchdown window sill the entire time we have been there!

The largest room on the bottom flooring is the restaurant, which combines a wooden panelled primary room that provides a surprisingly contemporary feel with a bright and ethereal conservatory extension. At the peak of luxurious, the Isle of Eriska Hotel stands on an enchanted private island, positioned on the west coast of Scotland. It is surrounded by lovely expansive views of the Loch Linnhe and the majestic Morvern mountains.

Isle Of Eriska Lodge Spa & Golf

The employees though wanting to please weren’t as skilled. Everything was nice except for the cost of drinks. Significantly overestimated – my solely criticism for an otherwise excellent three nights. I was especially irritated that they haven’t any vegetarian options at breakfast, regardless of having a vegetarian dinner menu. The solely thing was the swimming pool area which badly needs a refurb.
